Robert Davies Motors

Design study

An independent Quiet Coast redevelopment concept making vehicle sales, workshop services, storage and forecourt visits easier to navigate.

One business. Four clear routes.

THE DESIGN EXPLORATION

The genuine RDM and storage branding sits above a four-part architecture — buy, maintain, store and visit — giving a multi-service automotive business a clear structure. A deliberately labelled vehicle-search prototype demonstrates the interface without inventing inventory. Workshop, storage, car wash and forecourt routes receive their own space. All stock, finance and service enquiries are directed to the existing business website.

SOURCE & CONTEXT
  • The existing website lists used cars, vans and 4×4s, alongside finance information.
  • Workshop, servicing, MOT and Evolution remapping are published services.
  • Vehicle/container storage, a touchless foam car wash and Gulf forecourt/shop are also listed.

01 / DESIGN DECISION

Make the divisions visible

A prominent service directory avoids treating every visitor as a vehicle buyer.

02 / DESIGN DECISION

Separate design from inventory

The search controls announce their prototype status and never fabricate cars, prices or availability.

03 / DESIGN DECISION

Help people plan a visit

Sales and aftersales hours are distinguished; other service opening hours are not inferred.
